Why Do I Have to Review Assignments?
Because reviewing is what turns short-term learning into long-term memory.
That’s why Cerego recommends reviewing your assignments regularly. Learning science shows that repeating information over time helps your brain store it more permanently and retrieve it more easily.
Why Review Before Live Practice?
A Live Practice is your time to speak confidently and use the language you have learned through Self- Study, not to struggle to remember it.
If you review your self -study in the days before your session:
You’ll find words more quickly
You’ll feel more confident speaking
You’ll make fewer repeated mistakes
You’ll spend more time communicating and less time hesitating
Try to reach at least 70% progress in your self-study assignments before your Live Practice. This will help you get the most out of your session with your coach.
What Should I Review?
Take it one step at a time and focus on reviewing the content from your current lesson.
Even if your completion rate shows 100%, you can always go back and review assignments. Revisiting content strengthens your understanding and reinforces long-term retention.
How Should I Review?
Keep it simple:
Study a little each day (around 15 minutes is ideal)
Avoid cramming everything the night before
Let the platform guide your pace
You may sometimes see a “Brain Freeze.” Don’t worry, it’s not a technical issue. It’s actually a helpful feature! It gives your brain time to absorb and process what you’ve learned so you remember it more easily later.
Small, regular study sessions are much more effective than long, last-minute ones.
Think of It This Way
Studying once helps you recognize something.
Reviewing helps you feel comfortable using it.
And at Chatterbox, the goal isn’t just to recognize the language — it’s to speak it with confidence.
